Beginning in 1901, the Deerfield Society of Blue and White Needlework produced cross-stitched embroideries. Easier to stitch than its other designs, these embroideries were quicker to produce. Since they could be sold at a lower price point, these highly inventive cross stitch designs broadened the market for Blue and White Society work.
