This Frances and Mary Allen photograph of Emma Henry's pincushion top with a grapevine pattern in filet netting illustrated "Netting Outlives the Centuries" in the December 1920 edition of The Modern Priscilla. The article recognized Emma Henry's work as offering a modern day connection to colonial craft traditions. According to the author, "in the little town of Deerfield, Massachusetts, that harbors so many treasures of the colonial days, and does so much to foster the early American handicrafts, you will find a recognized authority on the beautiful netting of the colonial period."
