Adella Andrews moved to Deerfield, Massachusetts, in 1902. The Director of dyeing for the Deerfield Arts and Crafts Society in 1903, Adella hand dyed thread for the Deerfield Society of Blue and White Needlework, cloth for rag rugs and raffia grass for the Pocumtuck Basket Makers and for sale to the public. She also made wove rugs for the Deerfield Rugmakers and made raffia baskets. As reenactors, Adella Andrews and members of her immediate family played an integral in the historical pageants that were produced in Deerfield in the early years of the twentieth century.
