The Pomegranate Motif
Arts and Crafts Pomegranate
Here, the artist has oriented the four, nearly-identical, quadrants of her larger design so that a trio of stylized pomegranates nestle into each corner of this embroidered table square. Four rope stems meet and frame the Blue and White Society seal in the center of the work. Miller's design is nearly symmetrical along its vertical and horizontal mid-lines. A subtle balancing of light and dark elements adds to the harmony of the whole.
